First and foremost — Happy New Year! I hope this next year is filled with all that you wish for and a few surprises along the way.
Here’s my question for you. If you could wish (and grant that wish) for one thing…for one person (not a worldwide wish like world peace) this year…what would you wish, who would it be for and why would you wish it so?

For Susan (@susanreynolds on Twitter) and Duane (@PreppyDude on Twitter) to be cancer-free. I’ve come to know and care for them this past year via Twitter and blogs and phone calls, and I’ve been inspired by their bravery and honesty and generosity. I’d like to have them both in my life for a long, long time.
For my daughter Kate (twitter’s @badwolf) to have mentors appear in her life who would help her weave from her unique life experiences, wide interests, diverse knowledge and outstanding mind, a rewarding career outside the stereotyped lines she thinks limit her.
In fact, what a gift that would have been for any of us in our twenties – or as we struggled to find our direction at any point in our lives. Come on Universe (and education / social systems too) get on this one!
For Bruce Jacobs, my husband – the computer gladiator, to feel comfortable in his job. To not feel like he is under the microscope and that every small mistake will get him fired. For him to understand that he is doing well and they do appreciate him.
For SusanReynolds, Duane, and all others fighting cancer to have the strength to fight and the strength to know when to ask for help.
I agree with both Connie and Susan in the wishes, and set out this one of my own.
I would wish even greater success for Liz Strauss, because she is such a wonderful friend and incredible blogger. She is honest and forthright and manages to make everyone who stops by Successful Blog feel special. The Tuesday Night Open Comments nights are often the highlight of my week on the web.
