What can Google teach us about marketing?

That's exactly the question that Aaron Goldman asked…and the answers he discovered turned into the book, aptly titled, Everything I Know About Marketing, I learned from Google.

Aaron put together a video specific to you — the Marketing Minute audience.  (One of the lessons is about being very relevant to your audience and Aaron is walking his talk by speaking just to you….)  You'll love the Marketing Minute rap he does at the end!

This book is an excellent read — smart, great examples and lots of applicable, customer-centric ideas.

If you want to peek into the pages a bit before buying, check out the book's website or you can grab the free e-book that gives you a very good taste.  But don't be fooled by the smart content in the e-book.  You're still going to want to read the whole book!

I saw this book at a local book store the other day and immediately found myself scanning over the back cover. The funny thing is that I don’t think I would have even picked the book up if it had not had the large, unmistakable Google logo right there on the cover. I have read some reviews about this book online, and to say the least, I’m looking forward to giving this book a read.

  2. Tracy — I think you’ll enjoy the read!

Jason — come back and let us know what you thought after you finish the book!

  3. Drew – thanks for hosting me on my blog tour and for the kind words in your post.

Tracy – funny that the Google “logo” grabbed your attention on the cover. Google has clear guidelines that you are not allowed to use their logo so we used the same typeface and made the font color red which is supposed to “jump” off the shelves. Glad to hear it worked!

Jason – indeed, my book is all about taking lessons we SEO/SEM geeks know inherently and applying them across the broader marketing construct. Look forward to your feedback.

    Cheers,

  4. Aaron,

Glad to be a part of it. The personalized video was a brilliant way to live out some of the lessons in your book!
